“Colin McMahon is a young Canadian composer currently living in Toronto, Canada. His focus is on Chamber and Operatic compositions, with an emphasis on lyrical melody and rich harmony. He seeks to draw together the language of romantic and modern music to create powerful and complex, yet approachable music. His first chamber opera Antoinette with libretto by Ray Hsu premiered in Spring 2017.
Colin McMahon is pursuing his Doctorate in Composition at the University of Toronto and holds a Master’s in Composition from the University of Western Ontario. He has attended the 2017 Opera from Scratch Workshop, and the 2015 Vancouver Art Song Lab and has served as an assistant conductor for 2015 Accademia Europea dell’Opera.”
